Dear Parents

Welcome to Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College.  We are proud of our college, our students and their achievements, and proud to be part of the community of Weston-super-Mare.

At Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College we have high expectations of all our students. We expect all students to behave well and so set clear boundaries.  Students are expected to try hard and achieve their personal best in all that they do.  We are committed to providing students with a broad range of opportunities both within and outside the classroom that allows them to develop their talents to the full. Teaching and learning is at the heart of our college and our teams of well-qualified teachers and support staff use every opportunity to help students do their best.  Students with particular needs receive additional help from the Learning Promotion Team.  Extra money from the DCSF has provided more staff to provide Gifted and Talented work, Learning Mentors, “Aim Higher” post-16 work and a Learning Support Centre. Our Specialist Status is in Mathematics and Information and Communication Technology, and we are regarded as a centre of excellence in these areas and in all parts of our broad, balanced and relevant curriculum.

Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College is very fortunate to have truly outstanding facilities. The new modern building provides our young people with a learning environment for the 21st century. The whole college is linked for Information and Communication Technology and we are fortunate to have a network of over 325 computers, with INTERNET access. Our facilities are smart, light and well equipped; our specialist science, design technology, art, music and drama rooms have state of the art facilities. Our hall is equipped to a professional standard as a theatre, whilst our sports hall easily caters for the full range of sports and complements our playing fields.  All staff have a laptop.
